About the Project

This learning object was created to supplement a Healthcare in Diverse Populations course. This interactive map let students click on various portions of the world. Each number will reveal common health problems and issues of the corresponding country or region. The following numbers correspond to the following populations and their respective countries/regions. Within each description, students will also find information as it relates to recent immigrants from such areas into the United States, as many health problems persist after coming to America for generations. Essentially, the descriptions of health problems relevant to various portions of the world don’t only refer to the people living in those areas of the world now. They refer to the descendants of those areas, regardless of where they might currently live.
